Birth Story

I have been major slacking on keeping up with my blog, so today I'm playing catch up!

 August 20

August 21

I was scheduled for induction on August 21.

I had to be at the hospital at 5am to get checked in and get the pitocin started. Around 5:50 I had my IV getting fluids and was hooked up to the belly monitor.

at 6:15 they started the pitocin and some antibiotics. 8:00 the doctor came in to check my and I was 2.5 cm dilated and she broke my water. by 8:30 the contractions were coming on strong so I asked for an epidural, which I got at 9. my mom got to the hospital around 9:30 and brought keegan some breakfast.

the doctor came back in at 9:45 and I was 5 cm dilated. then she told me that it usually takes an hour to dilate 1 cm from 5cm to 10cm.. so I was expecting a long and slow labor/delivery. Amanda came to visit on her lunch break at noon and told me that Dr. Li was on her way to come check me. I was fully dilated and ready to push, so lucky Amanda got to stay for the delivery. at 12:40 I was still pushing but her head wouldn't come through my pelvis because she was trying to come out with her head turned so they ended up having to use the vacuum to get her out.
she was born at 1:36 pm weighed 7lb 4oz and 20 inches long!

36 weeks!

I was so proud of my self for how good I was doing at blogging while we were in Idaho. Once we got to tennessee that all went downhill. I've been pretty busy with babysitting my niece and nephew all summer and finishing up all the baby stuff before Addison gets here! So glad I can finally say I have reached the one month mark! I thought it would never come! Who knew 9 months would go by soo slow! This has been a pretty easy pregnancy.. and still is. I just have my "miserable" moments where I am soo done with being pregnant, until I really start to think about it.. and then I'm okay with her staying inside for a little while longer! But I am very ready for her to be here! After so long of feeling her kick and move and hiccup- I can't wait until she's actually here! I have my next doctor's appointment on Wednesday and that's when I'll find out if I have progressed at all. I start going to the doctor every week now! FINALLY!

I've finally gotten her room completed, our hospital bags packed and insurance stuff figured out, so thats a huge relief. I though I was never going to get it all done! Luckily my mom has been a HUGE help!

In June I had a great baby shower! So thankful for all of my friends and family that were there to show their love and support for us!

At the beginning of July, Amanda called and said that her work was trying out a new ultrasound machine and wanted to know if I would come be their "guinea pig"! I am sooo glad I was able to! The pictures I got were AMAZING!
